The word “Alterra” comes from fusing the words altitude and terrain meaning…
to pay homage to the mountains and communities that form the backbone of the business
In 2019, Alterra plans to invest $17 million in upgrades for Tremblant ski resort. A new chair lift will replace the Lowell Thomas raising the capacity by an additional 600 skiers per hour. Alterra will add 90 new snowguns, renovation the Aquaclub La Source spa. Five new glades will also be added extending the skiable area to 715 acres and 101 trails across 715 acres. By the end of 2020, a new skiing museum is also being added by the end of 2020.
Alterra Mountain Company wants to bring Tremblant real estate into the 21st century with high class sophistication, while still being family-oriented compared to the early days of the resorts social elite stature.
