Many people are surprised to hear that French is the primary language in Mont Tremblant. Located in the province of Quebec, Mont-Tremblant Quebec is the only French speaking region in all of Canada. Nearly 90% of the population speaks French but a majority of those that work at the Resort or within the tourist industry speak English as a second language.
Natives of Quebec are devoted to preserving the French heritage throughout the province. Most of the signage in Quebec is written in French and includes the English translation in smaller letters. English is not spoken universally throughout every province in Quebec but it is widely spoken in the City of Mont Tremblant.
A large percentage of the visitors in Mont-Tremblant Quebec are English speaking tourists that have traveled from all over the world. Many of these English speaking tourists come from cities located in the United States, are visiting from other regions of Canada or have traveled from England. While the primary language in Mont Tremblant is French, locals will often speak English to those non-French speaking tourists. Americans have a very strong influence in Canada and as a result many of the locals in Mont-Tremblant speak English.
