Since 2011, Mont Tremblant has organized the prestigious competition of IRONMAN Mont Tremblant Located in the Laurentian Mountains, Mont-Tremblant was chosen for the excellent quality of its environment and its perfect conditions. The town and its surrounding communities present an easily walkable and navigable setting that is ideal for all the activities of the Tremblant Triathlon. In few years, Mont Tremblant has become an unmissable event for thousands of athletes from around the world.
The IRONMAN in Mont Tremblant is a three-part competition with a swimming; a cycling and a running segment.
Swimming Segment
The Ironman triathlon begins early morning with the swimming portion of the competition. Contestants start off at the Beach and Tennis Club on Lake Tremblant with 2.4 mile swim. The waters during August in Lake Tremblant are warm with average temperatures of 71 °F during the summertime.
Cycling Segment
The second portion of the IRONMAN Triathlon is very challenging with a 112 mile bike ride through the forests and mountains of Mont Tremblant. This two-loop course takes the participants through difficult elevation levels as they pedal through Montee Ryan and Chemin des Voyageurs then passing the Tremblant Resort.
Running Segment
The last and most difficult leg of IRONMAN in Mont Tremblant is also the most scenic. The 26.2 miles run takes athletes past the most beautiful scenery along the famous Le Petit Train du Nord, past the sparkling Tremblant Lake and ending at the Tremblant Resort. Spectators are encouraged to cheer on the athletes from areas that have been strategically placed between start and finish line.
