No experience is necessary as this activity is designed also  for beginners.First you will learn ice climbing safety protocol, climbing techniques and how to belay fellow climbers. Other packages are proposed by the ice climbing school depending on your skills.

All equipment is provided but ice climbing in Mont Tremblant requires you to bring your own alpine ski boots. If you do not have ski boots for ice climbing you may rent them . It is highly recommended that  you wear warm clothing like snow pants, hats and goggles because you will be in direct contact with the ice and it gets cold.

DISCOVER ICE CLIMBING

Enjoy a full day of ice climbing with constant surprises and discovery of your abilities. This introduction to the practice of ice climbing is done safely. You will attend a presentation of basic equipment and will learn the method for belaying your partner. You will also receive tips on ice climbing technique to make upward progress with ease.

TOP ROPING AUTONOMY ON ICE

In this course you will learn the skills for various types of belays for the installation of a safe top-rope for ice climbing, knots and their applications, rappelling and characteristics of the basic material and equipment used. You will also learn to build anchors with ice screws and the basic self-rescue skills. This course is ideal for people who already top-rope in gym and want to climb ice outdoors. A course outline as well as a summary of the course highlights will be provided to you.

Pre requisite: At least one day of discovery ice climbing or equivalent experience.

Duration: One to two days depending on your actual skills.

LEAD CLIMBING ON ICE

Learn how to climb multi-pitch ice routes. Discover all the tricks of the trade of placing protection on ice, among other things with ice screws. Develop techniques and attitudes to save your energy. A course outline as well as a summary of the course highlights will be provided to you.

Pre requisite: Climbing at WI 4+ level top-roping.

Duration: 1 to 3 days, depending on your experience
